The annual South Wicklow open show took place today. It is alway's a fab show with a great entry and some really nice prizes. A show we alway's like to support. In previous year's we have had best in show and reserve best in show the following year. Last year I judged for the club so I was delighted to be back showing my dogs at this well run event.

Another successful day to be had by all, Indy won best of breed and nealy made it all the way only to be piped at the post by a very nice Irish Setter so he settled for reserve best in show which was fab.

Brad won the champion stakes, Kelly was best bitch in breed, Jack won his class and Amelie who was on her first outing came 2nd in the puppy stakes. Not a bad day!!

17th March '09

Not to far to travel today, only a 30 min journey to the national exhibition centre at Cloghran for our St. Patrick's day show. With only 4 dog's entered today it was a little more relaxing than usual. We had decided to give the younger whippet's a whirl today just to see how they would get on and the did'nt let us down. The judge for today was a well known whippet person Ms. M. Martin. Jack who is now 10 month's won his junior class and gained his Celtic junior title on the day and Kelly now 8 month's also won her puppy bitch class and was short listed in the puppy stakes under Mr. N. White.  We were delighted as this was their first big show.
We also had best of breed with both the Skye terrier 'Tash' and our Borzoi 'Angel' . The Borzoi also took a 3rd place in the group. Thank's to all the judges on the day and to my pal Steph and her girls Fiona and Aisling for all their help as usual.

Well its been a while, I hope you are all keeping well. Last week we made our anual visit to Crufts and It was well worth the trip. The day started at 5 30am as we got loaded up and headed for the NEC.
Our first class was special puppy bitch where our new baby 'Amelie' was placed 4th. She was handled by her previous owner Mr. Roger Stock on the day,(thankyou Roger). Next it was 'Indy's' turn but it was not to be his day, I made a mistake with his class and put him in yearling instead of junior so he was a little lost. Not to worry we were pleased with the way he showed. Then it was 'Brads' turn and as usual he never put a foot wrong. We were so proud of him taking home the reseve cc out of such a big entry.
To top of the day our Skye terrier 'Tash' was 3rd in open only to be beaten by two of the U.K.'s top winning Skye's. Not bad if I say so my self!

27th January '09

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a fab xmas and newyear. Ours was a sad one this year as it was our first xmas without my dad but we got through and had a very busy but nice day.My husband Colin cooked his first christmas dinner which was a great success .I think he will have the job again next year and maybe even the year after that.

Well there has been lots of stuff happening since my last update. We had our St. Stephens Day show which drew a good entry as usual and a good day it was too. Brad got Best of breed then he won the group and went on to take 3rd place in Best in show. Tash(skye terrier) also won Best of breed and just to complete a great day for the Ailesbury gang we got Best of breed with Angel(Borzoi) and group 3. This was angels 7th green star making her an Irish champion.

We have also had a new arrival at Ailesbury in the shape of a Whippet bitch from the very successful U.K. based Courthill kennel. Amilie is a sweet girl of 9 months old, her kennel name is Courthill coin of the realm. A big thankyou to Roger Stock and Patsy Gilmour for allowing her to cross the pond. She has had a great start to her show career . She is already qualified for Crufts 3 times over and took Best puppy in Breed at Manchester a couple of weeks ago.I cant wait to show her.

Last Saturday night saw us at the Show dog of the year final with Brad for the 3rd year in a row. The identity of the judge is kept secret til the night so when we arrived and saw it was an all rounder from Denmark I knew we would not be as successful as other years and how right I was. Brad never seems to be their cup of tea. We made it through the first round along with the Irish Wolfhound which seemed right as we have spent the last 3 years fighting out the groups between us , one show its Brad and the next its Lady's turn and it just goes on like that all year. It was lady's turn tonight and a massive well done to Ger Clarke and family on their big win.

Our other bit of news was that at the January meeting of the Kennel I made it back on to the judges committee which was great as I find it very interesting.

We have been having great fun over the last few weeks with the babies, we have been taking them to a few limit shows and they are doing really well.Last week kelly won best puppy bitch in show. We were delighted.

One more thing before I go I just want to say well done to George in Wales who owns one of our pups from the last litter,he has been doing very well with Roxy in the show ring. Keep up the good work George, we are very proud of Roxy.

Bye for now everyone, dont forget to email and let me know how your all doing.

Thankfully we were able to change our ferry to make it home for the funeral. Our thoughts are with the whole family at this sad time.
